I hate it when they're sick

Poor Harry has a cold and has a fever which keeps raising it's ugly head every few hours. I've been dosing him up with Tylenol but he's very miserable, poor lamb. You feel so helpless when they're like this.

Also sick is the UKChat Chat server which after several years of service has decided to give up on us. Fortunately we've got just enough money in the bank to buy a new one...... it'll leave us skint again but it is a good job this didn't happen a few months ago when we were totally skint. We, in this case, being the UKCompany, not me personally, although with the run up to Christmas I feel skint too :)

Talking of money, I got into a ridiculous bidding war on Ebay last night trying to get hold of a Nintendo DS for D who has his heart set on one for Christmas. They're typically completely sold out in all shops with no more due to be shipped in before Christmas (how stupid is that?). I found some on ebay for more or less the same cash as they are in the store and chose an auction that was due to end within minutes. I was the highest bidder for ages then someone came in with 2 mins to spare and outbid me, which proceeded into becoming a ridiculous bidding war where the price rose beyond control. All reason left me, I was going to win. I kept raising it, being outbid, getting furious, bidding again, and in the last 2 seconds the other person, much to my fury and disgust, won. That is, until I realised the price had gone almost 100 bucks over the odds as a result ! I then calmly bought one on a 'buy now' option for the right price - lucky!

Just make sure you warn KT first in case she decides to tart bidding on it ;)

Hmm... "tart" bidding; I'll have to think up a definition for that!

Oops :)

Isn't that the way on eBay? People get into ridiculous bidding wars and the price goes out of control.

I used to skim the photo equipment section and often saw used photo gear selling for more than what the same item, brand new, would cost from a reputable mail-order company. Stupid, stupid people!

I only buy stuff on there now which has the "Buy Now" option... have got a superb mahogany desk and a nice leather desk chair that way... I just can#t be arsed with those bidding wars though as they do just get stupid!
