The not so sweet smell of poo

I'm quite horrified by the output coming from H now. Gone are the days of smell-free or even sweetish smelling baby poo, and in it's place are honking gross poo filled nappies which you can smell a mile away. Yuk. Having not had to worry about the nether regions of a child for a while it's a shock reminder. And wah, he's not my tiny baby any more :(

D has his school christmas concerts today (both). They're always tear-jerkingly lovely despite the lack of tea towels. He told me yesterday that he is going to be introducing one of them by saying 'Welcome to the East Casa Christmas Concert' and that he's very very nervous about it. Bless! It'll be his last one at BGMS as next year he'll go into Grade 1 full time at Alloa (arse!).

maybe the smell has something to do with yesterdays posting and the spicy food you have passed onto him?

Isn't sending him to Alloa a bit far? After all it's only 4 miles from here ;) will take bloody ages to get home at night!

When was poo ever sweet smelling????

Or is that a mother/baby thing?

Yeah, I've heard all kinds of things about how various baby emissions don't smell, don't stain, etc. Sounds pretty fishy to me. I think I'll avoid having any babies so I don't have to find out!

I think there's something genetic that means your own babies poo is, while not necessarily inoffensive, able to be dealt with without vomiting. Some people can deal with other peoples babies arses, I'm not one of them, they literally do make me want to vomit.

Breast fed babies who have not started on anything else to eat yet have poop which doesn't really smell at all... you're hard pressed to know if they do need changing half the time, you need to do a visual check not a nasal one! If they do smell of anything it's generally a sweetish milkish smell and not offensive at all (smell aside, the sight of some other babies breastmilk poo would, however, make me vomit)

Guess A & I have all these delights to come... (we got married end of November, finally....)
