The Legendary Paper Ken

When I left University I spent a year 'opting out' and playing in a band, inexplicably calling ourselves 'Paper Ken'.

We used to play every day up at Dave Illsley (guitar)'s house. His parents had a very nice place in the middle of nowhere and we converted their gym into our "studio". When we wanted a break we'd go and play tennis on their tennis courts. Quite.

Brad Heyward played drums. I played Keyboards. Ade played bass and sang (sort of).

We had one or two gigs. One was at someones house. The other was at someones party. We were going to have one at The Grapes but Ade bottled it and we split up amid much acrimony and so lost the chance to be rich and famous -sigh.
