Bang Bong

Another weekend of DIY. Yesterday G prepared the kitchen for the installation of the stainless steel chimney hood thing we've bought.... he had to cut holes in the wall and fix brackets and all sorts of complicated things. Then he had to rewire most of this floor of the house. Today the chimney is going in... theoretically (it's now 3.20 and it's still not in).... and involving lots of being in the loft, cutting holes in the ceiling, banging things, and generally making an enormous mess. Oh and he stood on the new lovely Bosch hob and broke the grate. Brilliant.

Last night we went out for a friends birthday dinner to an Indian restaurant in Bellevue. Nice, actually, considering what passes for Indian food this side of the Atlantic is usually fairly poor. We followed that up with a trip to a new 'English Pub' called the 3 Lions here in Redmond..... which totally failed in it's attempts to become an English pub. Office style hung ceilings, far too many lights, far too many TV's, no smoke, table service, and generally rather poor beer + food!

Hello,

I know it's off topic but I just saw in the corner of your page an image of "Mr. Bump". I have not seen those characters since I was a little kid. They use to be my favorites. Do they still sell those books?

Ohhhh yes... :)

In the UK

http://www.amazon.co.uk/My-Mr-Men-Library-Bus/dp/0749859873/ref=pd_sbs_b_1/026-6218474-8237243?ie=UTF8

In the US

http://www.amazon.com/My-Mr-Men-Library-Bus/dp/0749859873/ref=pd_sbs_b_1/026-6218474-8237243?ie=UTF8

In Canada it looks like you need to get them all one at a time... but

http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/702-3842719-5910427?%5Fencoding=UTF8&search-type=ss&index=books-ca&field-author=Roger%20Hargreaves

Mr Men rock... especially since if you buy the WHOLE library it spells out "My Mr Men Library" on the books spines :)

Bit unfair regards the smoke - they'd be banged up under state law.

Had a reasonable steak & kidney pie (bit shop bought/portion control, home made cut from a bigger pie would have been nicer and a passable pint of Bass - no gravy though, must be southerners.

True re: smoke but the rest of the remarks stay.... you should have seen the apple pie one of us ordered, it was an upside down Mr Kipling covered in lumpy custard. Urgh.
