Cardiologist again

G reminded me this morning that I had a Cardiologist appointment - good job he did else I'd have totally forgotten.

Anyway - saw him, and he initially said to continue taking the beta blockers until after the baby is born. I then told him how during my previous 2 c-sections immediately after getting the spinal anaesthesia that my blood pressure had dropped dramatically and that I'd needed to be injected with something ASAP to get me back to normal. I asked him if the beta blockers might be an issue with this and he said hmm, yes, they might (they lower it).... then after pondering the options including missing a dose the day of surgery, he decided (with my input) that I should stop taking them a couple of weeks before the baby comes. This means my body won't be in withdrawal with a super fast heart beat, and also that the beta blockers aren't fighting with whatever drugs the anaesthetist gives me. I might have some more swelling / faster heart beat for a couple of weeks at the end of the pregnancy but I think it's for the best! Also maybe I'll be less tired not taking them? One can but hope.
