That edge there, I'm nearly over it at the moment.
I dropped Harry at school today and some of the mums asked me about what had happened in the UK. While telling the story, I burst into tears.
I think there has been just too many things going on over the last few weeks for one person to handle and stay sane. Tab's illness, leaving the UK, Tab's 2nd illness, then a really very scary situation with G the other night and his diabetes.
I'm off dairy right now which is hard. I find when I'm restricting my diet that I miss out on the 'comforts' of normal eating and when I can't indulge those comforts when I really need to, it brings me down. I can't have a morning coffee, an afternoon tea, bread, you name it - it contains dairy.
Tabs antibiotics have also upset her stomach so she is hurting and passing lots of painful wind and crying and awake every hour or so all night long. I haven't slept in 2 weeks now, a week of jet lag and now this.
Oh and the stupid message board thing. And my laptop blew up.
Bah Humbug.
Posted by katie at February 5, 2008 12:25 AMWhen it rains, it pours, huh? I'm sorry, and I totally understand. Lack of sleep makes everything worse, too, so snuggle that baby up and take a nap with her. : )
I'll keep you in my prayers.
Cara
P.S. Did my comment yesterday about the book suggestion get to you? I don't see it below so I was just wondering.
Thanks Cara, I didn't see a suggestion for a book no, maybe the gremlins got it! Do share? :)
Also thanks Sarah xx

Yes I guess the internet gremlins got my first post to you--
I found you by accident but got 'hooked' by the baby talk, haha! I have 4 kiddos myself, boy 7, girl 6, boy 4, girl 8 months next week (I think our babies are close to the same age?); you'd think I'd be over all things baby by now, but I'm not.
Anyway, I was reading about your trip and how you were wondering what foods to feed your daughter, so I wanted to tell you about the book I've used with all my monkeys to make their food. It's called Super Baby Food by Ruth Yaron, you can Google it or find it on Amazon. She gives a lot of great info, recipes, prep and storage ideas, and my favorite is that she tells you at what age babies can have which foods. I thought it might help you. It's sort of a thick book but don't be intimidated, the info is easy to access. :)
My little one is wanting to be rocked so I'll check back later--hope you get some rest and have a nice weekend.
Cara
Hey, are you keeping with the old pro-biotics? Invaluable for babbies taking antibiotics.
Also - don't discount goat's milk as an alternative milk - see if Tabs get any efffects from it after having any.
I say this doubly because if she has *minimal* effects from it (James gets... you know.. some - his face is a tiny bit red, he's more prone to bumps) then it would be soooo much better / more natural for her to be drinking goats milk in the long run after you stop feeding, than drinking soya or similar. well - you think she's having problems with soya anyway, don't you...
D'you guys get sheeps milk stuff over there? They sell it as live yog in Sainsburys - monstrously thick and creamy and full of good bacteria. Also worth looking at what butters you can get. I made a whole batch of gluten free flour, goats' butter biccies a couple of weeks back which were great - and which meant both the kids could have the same thing. Thank God! Bloody cheap too, compared to the extortionate price of shop bought gluten free *anything*.
