That Tabitha would sleep through the night. She is improving a little, mind you. She has gone through until 4am the last couple of nights. Unfortunately though, we are back to the struggle-to-get-back-to-sleep from that point which requires lots of bum patting, rocking, and sofa visiting.
In true Chinese Torture fashion last night I went to bed at midnight - utterly exhausted and hoping for a 4 hour stretch of sleep. At 2am I was woken by Harry prodding me and announcing that his bed was wet. While fully toilet trained during the day he occasionally has accidents at night. I had to get up and change his bed linen. Back to sleep for 1.5 hours and then wake to feed the baby. Argh!

Over here, the party line is that you shouldn't try to stop them waking unless they're a year old! aargh!
James wasn't sleeping through and we went to a sleep clinic - got a really, really good system but should only be used after baby is 6 months old plus.
Basically, you take a slightly long, but effective route. You cut down the night feed by 5 minutes about every 3 days, then when it gets to being around 10 or 12minutes long, you start reducing it by 1 minute, *then* when it gets to 5 minutes, go to reducing by about 30 seconds...
Suddenly, they just don't wake up anymore. Also, it gives you a good sense of control over the issue, whereas before your baby is calling the shots.
It really works - and it also gives your knockers a comfortable(ish) reduction over time.
